Statement of Purpose

The purpose of this website is to give people a place to access their news quickly and accurately. In a world of falsified news, it is important to read or watch the most credible news to have a true understanding of what is going on. With the addition of social media, news has become easily accessible to all, but news that is not credited and unvetted journalism has made more of an appearance because of the accessibility. This blog is in no way associated with any of  the sources that are used for the news topics. All websites used are credited news sources and rightfully given credit. Rest in Peace, Stan Lee

This morning, November 12th, 2018, Stan Lee died at age 95. He is the mastermind behind Marvel Comics. Why Where You Get Your News is so Important: Part 2

(Image per BuzzFeed News and Yes Theory video ) A few weeks ago, this picture of Justin Bieber eating a burrito was floating around the internet and social media. It turned out to be a set up for a video (see video below). This is a clear example of why where we get our news is so important. People truly believed that Bieber did not know how to eat a burrito... after some research was done, it became clear that this was a hoax and a made up story. It goes to show you how easily people believe whatever they see on the internet. In fact, the whole video was to prove how easy it is to stage a story in today's society where Photoshop and many other editing tools are so readily available to anyone. The lesson truly is, be sure to check your sources before believing news on the internet or anywhere, because it is so easy now to stage a whole story.

Why Where You Get Your News is so Important.

The definition of journalism according to dictionary.com is: " the  occupation  of   reporting,  writing,  editing,  photographing,  or   broadcasting  news  or of   conducting  any  news  organization  as a   business." Journalism is not only about broadcasting the news, it is also all about the reporting of current events in the most ethical and unbiased way possible. Because this is what journalism truly should be where one goes to receive their news is extremely important. The question is then, where do you get your news from? It is so important in today's society to be sure to find news in only the most ethical and unbiased places as possible, but this becomes challenging with the social internet. When reading the news, one must know that not all sources posted on the internet and social media are credible enough or even unbiased enough to be classified as a place to receive news from all the time. Truthfully it can be hard to tell if a source is biased or not. But

Welcome to Keeping Up with Credibility! On this blog you will find various news topics with many sources to credible and accurate reports on these news topics. Lots of the time, people either do not know the correct facts or do not know what is going on when it comes to the news. This is a growing problem in the world of the social internet; lots of articles that are read are not necessarily credible. This site will hopefully make it easier to learn about current events from credible journalists. And give readers a guide to where they should be looking for news sources in the future. The blog will also feature posts about journalism so audiences can have a deeper understanding about what journalism is as a whole. Some of these topics will feature short videos that correlate with the topic, but will usually be uploaded in a different post! The goal is to educate readers about the importance of vetted news sources in the world of social media. Hopefully, this blog will help readers un
